DHAKA, April 9, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted that rain may occur at many parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am.

“Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions,” said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.

It said weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Kurigram and Kushtia, and it may spread, the Met office forecast.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin said.

The highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded 39 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi, while today’s minimum temperature was 19 degree Celsius in Badalgachhi under Rajshahi Division and Sayedpur under Rangpur Division.

The sun sets at 6.18 pm today and rises at 5.42 am tomorrow in the capital.
