KHULNA, April 08, 2020 (BSS) – As part of the country-wide food support, the local administrations, private and public representatives have kept distributing essential food items among the destitute families in different parts of the division by maintaining social distancing amid coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
Khulna divisional administration, district administrations, Khulna city corporation, Bangladesh Navy Khulna region, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6), Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), Khulna Press Club, local Awami League (AL) leaders, socio-cultural activists and non-government and volunteer organisations are continuing distribution of essential foods among the needy, jobless, destitute and poor people at their doorsteps to mitigate their hardship caused by the outbreak of coronavirus.
As a part of the government’s instant ‘humanitarian support’ declared by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mayor of Khulna City Corporation Talukder Abdul Khaleque distributed food among 13,000 families in need in the city’s different areas yesterday afternoon.
Each of the beneficiary families received a sac containing five kgs of rice, two kgs of potato, one kg of onion, one litre of edible oil, one kg pulse, two pieces of soaps and 500 gram iodized salt.
