Two die after drinking poisonous wine in Rangpur
RANGPUR, April 6, 2020 (BSS) – Two people died and another fell ill after drinking poisonous wine at village Paschim Keshabpur in Saddyapuskorini union of Sadar upazila in the district this morning.
The deceased were identified as meat trader Shahidar Rahman, 48, of village Paschim Keshabpur and tea stall vendor Abu Raihan, 45, of nearby village Baniyapara in the same area.
Another Masud Rana Bulbul, 45, of village Paschim Keshabpur fell sick and later recovered at home.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Sadar Thana ABM Sajedul Islam said the three persons collected three bottles of locally-made poisonous wine from a nearby Bazar and drank those sitting on a pond bank in Paschim Keshobpur village last night.
All of them fell sick. Of them, Shahidar Rahman died last night while Abu Raihan succumbed to death this morning.
Confirming the incident, Superintendent of Police Biplob Kumar Sarkar informed BSS this evening that Kotwali Sadar Thana police are investigating the incident.
