6,500 units of sanitizer distributed among field level officials in Khulna

KHULNA, April 06, 2020(BSS) – The Khulna district administration here on Sunday (yesterday) distributed 6,500 units of hand sanitizer among the government officials and employees who are working in the field to prevent community transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Khulna University (KU) Pharmacy Discipline is producing the hand sanitizer, following the formula approved by World Health Organisation (WHO), in association with Local Government Department (LGD) and funding by UNDP with Deputy Director of LGD Iqbal Hossain as the chief coordinator of the team.

The chief coordinator distributed 6,500 units of hand sanitizer, each a 100-milliliter bottle, and masks and soaps among the local government officials, employees, health workers and village police.

The items were reached to their doorsteps to avoid public gathering.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sarwar Ahmed Salehin, AC land Nuri Tasmin Urmi, among others, were present during the distribution.

Earlier, a 30-member team comprising 10 teachers and 20 students of KU and headed by Chief of Pharmacy Discipline Professor Dr. Ashish Kumar Dash started working in two labs of the university to produce the hand sanitizer.
