CCC provides safety equipment to medical professionals of BITID
CHATTOGRAM, April 5, 2020 (BSS) – Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor
AJM Nasiruddin today distributed safety gears to the medical professionals
working at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases
(BITID) at Fuzdarhat in Chattogram.
Dr MA Hassan Chowdhury, Director of BITID received the safety equipment
from the mayor at a simple ceremony held at the mayor’s office in city’s
Tigerpass area this afternoon.
The city mayor handed over 50 sets of personal protective equipment (PPE)
along with masks, gowns, gloves and 15 goggles set to ensure safety of the
doctors and technicians, while testing the blood samples of coronavirus
infected patients.
Panel Mayor Dr. Nesaruddin Ahmed Manju, Councilor Shoibal Das Sumon, Deputy
Director of BITID Dr. Hossain Rashid, Dr Faisal Iqbal Chowdhury, and General
Secretary of BMA Chattogram chapter, among others, were present at the
ceremony.
Later, Dr Mujibul Haq Khan and Dr Faisal Iqbal Chowdhury, President and
General Secretary respectively of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA)
Chattogram chapter also handed over 15 sets of PPE and 400 masks to the BITID
authorities at the programme.
