Social welfare ministry allocates Tk 23cr to face Covid-19
DHAKA, April 5, 2020 (BSS) – Social Welfare Ministry allocated around Taka 23 crore to stand by low-income group people including distressed, disabled and hijra people in the wake of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
The ministry has given allocation of Tk 22.96 crore to its 1,192 institutional units across the country, said a press release here.
Under the Department of Social Services, a total of 3,084 distressed and poor families were given foods and other daily necessaries till April 3.
The ministry has been providing 5kgs of rice, 2kgs of potato, 1kg pulse, 1kg onion, half liter oil and one piece of soap to 500 poor families in the capital every day.
