BDRCS conducts activities to prevent COVID 19 in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, April 5, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS),
district unit, has been conducting various activities in all the seven
upazilas of the district for a month to contain the spread of Coronavirus in
the region.
The activities include – distributing masks, awareness building leaflets,
hand sanitizers and soaps to the mass people at crowded places including
hospitals, thanas, upazila complexes of the district to combat COVID-19, said
an official.
Apart from it, the volunteers of BDRCS have been spraying on the roads and
the roadside walls with handled sprayers since March 26, to make the roads
and walls of important infrastructures like hospitals germ-free, the official
said.
Secretary of BDRCS, district unit, Rezaul Karim Reza said the overall
activities were being conducted under the direct supervision of Monoarul
Islam, chief of Red Crescent Youth under BDRCS, district chapter.
Ataur Rahman Sarker Ata, chairman of Gaibandha Zila Parishad and also
chairman of BDRCS, district unit, told this correspondent that the activities
had been geared up recently and it would continue until the Coronavirus
situation is controlled.
The local people highly lauded the ongoing activities of the BDRCS,
district unit in fighting against the COVID 19.
