Navy distributes relief in Bhasan Char
DHAKA, April 4, 2020 (BSS) – A contingent of Bangladesh Navy deployed at Noakhali’s Bhasan Char aimed at controlling the spread of coronavirus in the island today conducted awareness campaign on COVID-19 and distributed relief items among poor fishermen, cattlemen and working people there.
Besides, the Bhasan Char has been kept lockdown since March 24 to protect and keep the island safe from the outbreak of the coronavirus, said an ISPR press release here.
The contingent members of the Bangladesh Navy deployed in the Bhasan Char encouraged the people to maintain the hygiene and social distancing and avoid mass gatherings, the release added.
The members of the contingent also distributed masks among all the people in the Bhasan Char.
