‘Ananya’ takes different initiative to help poor

DHAKA, April 2, 2020 (BSS) – As the government has enforced ‘stay home’ directives declaring general holidays to slow the spread of coronavirus, the low-income group people including wage earners have apparently became jobless.

The government bodies, different NOGs and professional bodies have been arranging a plenty of programmes to stand by the poor and destitute including hijra and bede community people.

‘Ananya, a popular fortnight magazine which covers stories for women, has taken a different initiative in association of online-based wholesale market sadagar.com to provide foods and sanitizers to 50 destitute families side by side with encouraging them to follow the ‘stay home’ directives.

They distributed foods and sanitizers for one-week to day labourers and rickshaw pullers at Banashri, Staff Quarter, Konapara areas in the city while their target is to provide foods to 500 families during the crisis triggered by the outbreak of deadly coronavirus that claimed six lives in Bangladesh and over 44,000 across the world.
