Air chief opens four-week ‘First Aid Live Saving Course’

DHAKA, April 2, 2020 (BSS) – Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat today inaugurated a four-week ‘First Aid Live Saving Course’ at BAF Base Bangabandhu here.

He also inaugurated the course at different bases of BAF through videoconferencing.

The Air chief expressed his optimism that after receiving training the BAF members will play an active role to prevent the spread of coronavirus outbreak in the country.

He urged the BAF to remain prepared to provide cooperation in any need during this crisis period and urged all to discharge their duties with patriotism and sincerity.

The BAF has been extending cooperation to face any kind of national disaster and it continuation of that BAF is carrying out different activities to prevent coronavirus following the guidelines of the government at the directives of the prime minister.

A medical team of the BAF is ready for providing treatment facility, which will give service with the coordination of Armed Forces medical team at any necessity, the release said.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh National Cadet Core (BNCC), Sundarbans Regiment, has undertaken initiatives to keep common people protected from being infected by the coronavirus and raise public awareness on the issue, the ISPR release said.

It said the BNCC Sundarbans Regiment distributed rice, pulse, onion, edible oil, salt and potatoes among 100 low income group people in Khulna on Wednesday.

Besides, the regiment and Khulna City Corporation jointly set up cautionary banners on COVID-19 at five different places- in front of the Court Building, Post office, ‘New Market’ kitchen market, Shibbari crossing, Sandhya Bazar and Rupsha ghat, it said.

Commander of BNCC Sundarbans Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Rahat Nawaz met Khulna city mayor and apprised him of BNCC’s initiatives, the release added.

Various activities are being carried out in 21 districts under the Sundarbans Regiment at platoon level of BNCC, it added.
