(UNO) of Hathazari, took essential foods at midnight Wednesday to the house
of one poor Ferdous Akhtar, a resident of Burischar village, responding to
her phone call.

Earlier, Ferdous Akhtar collected UNO’s phone number by calling at help
number 333.

Then, she informed the UNO that her husband had died long ago, and she has
been living in abject miseries in the said area of Hathazari upazila with her
old mother-in-law, a son and two daughters.

She has been serving at a local Madrasa to earn TK 100 daily and somehow
managing her family.

As the Madrasa was closed down due to coronavirus epidemic, she too became
unemployed. As a result, she was facing dearth of foods and other daily
essentials.

UNO Ruhul Amin supplied essential food materials to the residence of
Ferdous Akter at the midnight soon after hearing all her miseries.

“We have just delivered 10 kgs rice, one kg pulse, one kg onion, five kgs
potatoes and two liters of oil to her,” he said.
