Heat wave likely to continue

DHAKA, April 2, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted that the ongoing mild heat wave would continue while weather would remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal Divisions and the regions of Sitakunda, Rangamati, M.Court, Feni, Rajshahi and Pabna, and it may continue,” said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.

Rain or thunder showers, accompanied by temporary gusty wind, may occur at one or two places over Sylhet and Mymensingh Divisions.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise by 1 to 2 degree Celsius over the country, the bulletin said.

The highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded 37.8 degrees Celsius in Mongla and Chuadanga of Khulna Division, while today’s minimum temperature was 17.5 degree Celsius in Tetulia of Rangpur Division.

The sun sets at 6.15 pm today and rises at 5.49 am tomorrow in the capital.
