GAIBANDHA, March 31, 2020 (BSS) – Gaibandha Municipality has been
conducting different activities including spraying germicide for last few
days to contain coronavirus spread, sources said.
The moves include distributing leaflets and miking on coronavirus awareness
among people, humanitarian works and handing over food items.
The fire fighters personnel are assisting the municipality officials in
spraying liquid antiseptic on various streets, said deputy assistant director
of Fire Service and Civil Defense Amirul Islam.
In addition, the councilors are also providing food to the daily wage-
earners who became jobless due to coronavirus situation.
Talking to the BSS, mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Adv Shah Masud
Zahangir Kabir Milon said the Poura Park had been locked down for few days
considering the health safety of the people.
He urged residents to maintain the social distancing and other
precautionary measures as per the guidelines of the health experts to fight
the Covid-19.
The mayor also suggested not going out of the homes without emergency
need.
