Dipu urges students to continue study at homes

DHAKA, March 29, 2020 (BSS) – As all educational institutions have been shut down in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has called upon the students to continue their study staying at home during the prevailing crisis.

“Please remain alert about coronavirus, follow health rules and maintain social distancing. . . Continue your study staying at homes,” she told a meeting at International Mother Language Institute at Segun Bagicha here.

She said airing recorded classes for secondary level students titled ‘Amar Ghore Amar School’ on the state-run Sangsad TV began today as per the directives of the prime minister.

Dipu said the initiative has been taken as academic activities of the students do not get hampered during the shut-down of schools.

Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain, Technical and Madrasah Education Division Secretary Munshi Shahabudin Ahmed and Director General of the Secondary and Higher Education Department Prof Syed Ghulam Farooq were also present on the occasion.

The minister extended his thanks to access to information (a2i) programme, teachers and technicians of Sangsad TV for their efforts to air the programme.
