DHAKA, March 28, 2020 (BSS) – A mother and her two children were burnt to
death as a fire broke out at a house in the city’s Mirpur area early today.
The deceased were identified as mother Kolpona Aktar, 32, and her children
Jannat, 13, and Kauser, 8.
The fire might have originated from a mosquito coil or electric short
circuit at a tin-shed house in Bauniabad area around 4:30am, Rasel Shikder,
duty officer of fire service control room, told BSS.
On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the
fire at around 5:00am, he said, adding that later, the members of
firefighting units recovered the burnt bodies and handed over those to the
Pallabi police station.
Duty officer of Pallabi police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Aklima Aktar said
the bodies were sent to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital
for autopsy.
Process of filing an unnatural death case is underway, she added.
