Air force distributes essentials among low-income people

DHAKA, March 27, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has distributed essential commodities amongst the low-income people adjacent to its all bases across the country.

The BAF distributed rice, pulse, onion, soap and fruits along with other essential items to the low-income group people yesterday (Thursday) nearby all the bases in the country, according to a press release issued here today.

The release said Bangladesh Air Force distributed essential items as humanitarian aid to face the coronavirus situation.

Considering the coronavirus a global pandemic, the government deployed the armed forces. The BAF has been giving cooperation to Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy to face any sort of national crisis following the directive of the armed forces division.

Under the ‘In Aid to Civil Power’ of the armed force division to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Bangladesh Air Force has also been providing assistance of emergency aircraft transportation and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) services along with Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Navy, the release added.

As part of this, the BAF brought five children infected with measles to Chattogram by a helicopter from Sajek union of Rangamati district for higher treatment.

Besides, the BAF has undertaken necessary activities including controlling of public gathering, ensuring home quarantine of BAF members and isolation wards at medical service providers, the press release said.
