DHAKA, March 25, 2020 (BSS) – Mobile network operators (MNOs) today sought cooperation from law enforcement agencies to offer uninterrupted services during the holidays.

“We are requesting responsible officials of law enforcement agencies to communicate with their field level officials so MNOs can keep their offices open without any disruption,” said Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB) at a statement.

AMTOB made this appeal as in some places MNOs officials or representatives are being faced challenges from the law enforcement agencies during their works such as network management, recharge and distribution, and customer service, read the statement.

It said in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, telecommunication has been declared as an emergency service and following the government’s instructions, MNOs have been providing uninterrupted services across the country.

On Monday, the government declared a 10-day nationwide holiday, shutting down government and private offices except essential and healthcare facilities from March 26 over the situation.
