RAJSHAHI, March 25, 2020 (BSS) – Two persons were killed and 15 others
injured when a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck in Bijoynagar area
on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway under Godagari Upazila of the district
this morning.
One of the deceased was identified as Matiur Rahman, 35, son of Abdul Aziz
of Chandipur village in Tanore Upazila of the district. The identity of
another is to be known immediately.
The accident occurred in the area around 6 am when a Chapainawabganj-bound
bus from Rajshahi collided head-on with a speeding truck, killing two persons
on the spot and injuring 15 others, said Abdul Bari, In-charge of Premtali
Police Investigation Centre.
The impact of accident turned the bus turtle on the road, ramming the
truck into a roadside tree, he said.
On information, police, fire service and civil defense personnel rushed to
the spot and sent the injured persons to Godagari Upazila Health Complex, he
added.
Later, the bodies were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for
autopsies, the police official continued.
