DHAKA, March 23, 2020 (BSS)-Popular cricketer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has
urged mass people to stay at home to contain the spread of coronavirus
pandemic across the country.

Mashrafe, also an MP from Narail-2 constituency, through his social media
account tried to create awareness among people about the deadly disease.

In this regard he wrote: “When you are at your youth, it’s the best time to
stay at home. When you are at your youth, it’s the best time to protect the
country.”

Those two lines basically are inspired from a famous poem of poet Helal
Hafiz.

Mashrafe’s call to stay at home especially for the youth came in the wake
of the situation, where most young people here in this country believe that
the coronavirus won’t affect them much.

Mashrafe, who gave up Bangladesh’s captaincy of the one-day team, has been
working in his constituency to create awareness among people on Covid 19.

Few days ago, he urged the people through his facebook page to maintain
social distance in the wake of the growing concern of coronavirus pandemic.

Bangladesh has so far registered 33 people infected with the virus as of
Monday, of which three died and five have recovered.

On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus
crisis a pandemic.
