Quader urges all to follow health rules to check COVID-19

DHAKA, March 21, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today urged all to abide by the health rules instead of being panicked over the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

“Don’t be panicked… To combat the coronavirus pandemic, we have to be conscious and abide by the health rules to protect ourselves from this deadly virus,” he told journalists after distributing hand sanitizers and masks among people at the political office of AL president at Dhanmondi here.

He hoped that people would get rid of COVID-19 disease if they follow the health rules carefully and with utmost sincerity.

Highlighting the incumbent AL-backed government’s endeavors to protect the people from COVID-19, he said the government has taken all-out preparations to fight it and as part of it, many programmes of the ‘Mujib Year’ have been postponed for the people’s safety.

Lauding the role of doctors in the country amid the current coronavirus situation, he said they (doctors) are very brave and they are discharging their duties with utmost honesty to cure people.

AL Presidium Member Begum Matia Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretaries SM Kamal Hossain and Mirza Azam, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Shree Sujit Roy Nandi, Labour Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman Siraj, Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua and Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan were present, among others, on the occasion.
