Padma Bank celebrates Bangabandhu’s birth centenary

DHAKA, March 18, 2020 (BSS) – Padma Bank Limited today celebrated the Mujib Barsha, the birth centenary of Father of the Nation and the greatest Bengali of all time Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Chairman of the Bank Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, senior officials and executives of the bank solemnly stood outside the bank’s head office wearing Mujib Barsha commemorative T-shirts and displaying placards to celebrate the 100th birthday of the founding leader and architect of Bangladesh.

The chairman and the managing director also cut a cake at the head office of the bank to mark the birth centenary and formally launched long-year festivities to commemorate the historic occasion.

“Bangladesh today is an independent nation just because of one man. And he is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” Sarafat said, adding that Padma Bank will hold a series of programmes throughout the year to pay tribute to the greatest Bengali leader of the millennium.

The Mujib Barsha birth centenary programme was simultaneously held in all 57 branches of Padma Bank with the branch managers and officials joining the celebrations by wearing commemorative T-shirts, cutting cakes and solemnly paying respect to him.
