100 Hafez to recite Quran tomorrow marking Bangabandhu’s centenary

DHAKA, March 16, 2020 (BSS) – Hundred of noted Hafez of the country will
recite Quran at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, marking the birth
centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman tomorrow.

Imams and Khatibs of the mosque will supervise the programme, State
Minister for Religious Affairs Advocate Sheikh Md. Abdullah said today.

He said a special doa mahfil and prayers will be held at mosques, temples,
churches, pagodas and all other religious institutions under the supervision
of the Islamic Foundation, Hindu Religious Welfare Trust, Christian Religious
Welfare Trust and Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust.

The state minister said this while talking to journalists after visiting
mausoleum of Bangabandhu at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

The Islamic Foundation (IF) has drawn up elaborate programmes for Mujib
Year.

The foundation has arranged a special doa mahfil tomorrow after Zohr
prayers at over 78,000 places of the country.

Islamic Foundation has already established `Bangabandhu Corner’ at
libraries in 64 districts, including central library of Baitul Mukarram
National Mosque.

Free medical camp and cleanliness campaign will also be held tomorrow at
district and divisional level offices and Islamic Mission Centre, Imam
Training Academies.
