Keramotia HS of Rangpur clinch Bangabandhu School Hockey’s title

DHAKA, March 15, 2020 (BSS)- Keramotia High School of Rangpur clinched the
title of the Bangabandhu School Hockey competition beating Armanitola
Government Primary School of Dhaka by 2-0 goals in the final held today
(Sunday) at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium here.

In the day’s match, Mohammad Bishal put Keramotia ahead early in the third
minute with field goal while Rezaul Islam sealed the victory for the
champions scoring the second goal in the 54th minute of the match.

Sobuj Das of Armanitola High School was named the best player of the
tournament while Zahid Hossain of Shaheed Mamun Mahmud Police Line School of
Rajshahi emerged as the highest scorer (eight goals) in the meet.

Besides, Muhtasin Mahmud of the champions team emerged as the best goal
keeper of the competition.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni was present as the chief guest in the
final and distributed the prizes while State Minister for Youth and Sports
Zahid Ahsan Russell was present as special guest.

Bangladesh Hockey Federation President Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman
Serniabat and tournament sponsor First Security Islami Bank Managing Director
Syed Wasek Mohammad Ali were also present in the prize giving ceremony.

Earlier, on way to the final, Keramotia High School of Rangpur beat
Government Jubilee School of Dinajpur by 2-0 goals in the first semifinal
while Armanitola Government Primary High School of Dhaka edged past Shaheed
Mamun Mahmud Police Line School of Rajshahi by 1-0 goals in the day’s second
semis held on Saturday last.
