Tk 5cr products sold at SME fair
DHAKA, March 15, 2020 (BSS) – Entrepreneurs of the “National SME Product Fair, 2020” sold products worth Taka five crore and received Taka 6.38 crore orders from the buyers.
SME foundation organized the 10-day fair from March 4 to 13 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city. A total of 296 entrepreneurs showcased their products at 309 stalls in the fair.
“Due to the outbreaks of Covid-19, the number of visitors in the fair declined compared to previous years and thus, sell and orders of products were reduced,” Assistant General Manager (Public relations) of SME Foundation Morshed Alam told BSS today.
Last year, entrepreneurs sold Taka 5.70 crore products and received Taka 9.50 crore orders from buyers.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair on March 4.
Participants of the fair showcased various items, including Jute, agriculture and leather goods, electrics and electrical items, light engineering products, handicrafts, plastic and synthetics items in the fair.
