Free health camp on Mujib Borsho held in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, March 13, 2020 (BSS) – A day-long free health camp for the poor
was held at Gatia village under Bharatkhali union of Saghata upazila in the
district on Thursday.

Gatia Miahbari Charitable Dispensary (GMCD) organized the health camp on
the Mujib Year (Mujib Borsho) on the occasion of birth centenary of Father of
the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, sources said.

A number of physicians including specialists on medicine, heart, liver,
kidney, diabetes, TB, eye, ENT, gyne, child and skin provided healthcare
services to the patients.

While visiting the camp this correspondent found that poor people with
chronically affected with diseases were receiving free treatment from the
physicians.

In the morning, Professor Dr Quazi Deen Mohammad, Director of Neuroscience
and Hospital, Dhaka formally inaugurated the health camp as the chief guest
while deputy speaker of the Jatiya Sangshad and local lawmaker Advocate
Fazley Rabbi Miah presided over the function.

Joint director of Neuroscience and Hospital Professor Dr. Badrul Alam Laddu
and head of medicine department of Ziaur Rahman Medical College Professor Dr.
Zakir Hossain also spoke at the event as the special guests while social
worker Shahadat Hossain moderated the function.

A large number of people including physicians, political leaders, social
workers and the journalists were present on the occasion.
