Railway evicts 400 illegal establishments in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, March 11, 2020 (BSS) – Eastern Zone of Bangladesh Railway (BR)
in a drive today evicted over 400 unauthorised shops and dwellings built on
railway land in city’s CGPY area and recovered about two acres of land from
there.

“We have evicted over 400 makeshift semi-pukka shops and houses from Hakim
Sawdagor colony of CGPYA area under Bandar police station and recovered about
two acres of land worth Taka 60 crore upon the directives of the BR
authority”, said Mahbubul Karim, divisional state officer of Bangladesh
railway eastern zone.

He said the drives will continue to recover rest of BR land in the port
city.
