Rajib’s family disapproves ‘faulty’ charge sheet

DHAKA, March 11, 2020 (BSS) – Family of Rajib Hossain, who died after
getting stuck between two buses in the capital in 2018, filed objection
against charge sheet filed by police in the case lodged over his death.

Rajib’s maternal uncle Jahedul Islam filed the objection plea with the
court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sorafuzzaman Ansari and the court set
April 1 to hold hearing on the matter.

The complainant in his plea brought allegations of fault in the charge
sheet, mistakes, irregularity and biasness in the investigation.

Police on February 2 filed charge sheet against two in the case lodged
over death of Rajib Hossain. Two charge sheeted accused are- driver of BRTC
bus Wahid and driver of Swajan Paribahan bus Md Khorshed.

Rajib Hossain, a third year bachelor degree student of Government
Titumir College died on April 17, 2018, ending his two-week struggle for life
after losing his right hand being trapped between two speedy buses at
Sonargaon Crossing in the city on April 3, 2018.

A case was filed on the day of the accident with capital’s Shahbagh
Police Station and the police later arrested drivers of the two buses. They
are still behind bars.

After the death of Rajib, police pleaded to add a section in the case
for causing his death through rough driving.
