Coronavirus hotline toll-free for Banglalink users
DHAKA, March 10, 2020 (BSS) – Mobile phone operator Banglalink today
announced that its subscribers can make toll-free call to Coronavirus
hotlines of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
The operator took the measure as part of facilitating preventive measures
against the spread of COVID-19 as three Bangladeshi people first ever
diagnosed with this virus, said a press release today.
In the cases of suspected Coronavirus symptoms or any queries, Banglalink
users can dial 01401184551, 01401184554, 01401184555, 01401184556,
01401184559, 01401184560, 01401184563, 01401184568, 01937000011, 01937110011,
01927711784 and 01927711785 free of cost.
The release said Banglalink is also supporting IEDCR to enhance their IVR
based survey process for inbound passengers at Hazrat Shahjalal (r)
International Airport.
Erik Aas, chief executive officer, Banglalink said, “We take the
Coronavirus situation very seriously and pledge to support the Government in
preventing the outbreak from our position.”
“I believe that if we all act responsibly and make collective efforts,
we’ll be able to fight off the outbreak successfully in near future,” he
said.
