Historic 7th March observed at Bangladesh missions abroad
DHAKA, March 7, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan today observed the historic day of 7th March, recalling the epoch-making speech of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman that fired up the Bengali nation to fight and win the independence of Bangladesh in 1971.
At the beginning one minute silence was observed in memory of Bangabandhu’s departed soul.
Messages of President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were read out by Ambassador Mosud Mannan.
The Embassy also organized screening of Historic 7th March Speech delivered by the Father of the Nation.
Ambassador Mosud Mannan said before the Liberation War started in 1971, the 7th March speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman united the Bengali nation and during the Guerrilla War encouraged the freedom fighters, said a press release.
At Bangabandhu’s call, three million people made supreme sacrifice to free their motherland and achieved independence, which is rare in the world country.
The Ambassador also said, UNESCO not only recognized the Historic Speech as a part of Bangladesh national heritage, also a valuable asset for the entire humanity.
Therefore, it is our responsibility to appreciate and respectfully recognize the leadership of Bangabandhu. He said.
The Ambassador made a clarion call to everyone present at the gathering to share this valuable speech of Bangabandhu with friends and acquaintances across the globe.
Among others, Uzbek dignitaries , Bangladesh nationals living in Tashkent and Embassy officials participated in the lively event commemorating significance of the 7th March speech of Father of the Nation and its inclusion as a part of UNESCO world documentary heritage.
Besides, Bangladesh Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan and Consulate General of Bangladesh, Istanbul and Turkey also observed this historic day and expatriate Bangladeshis and officials of the missions joined the programmes.
