2 killed, 6 injured in Munshiganj road accident
MUNSHIGANJ, Mar 7, 2020 (BSS) – Two people were killed and six
were injured when a Micro bus and passenger bus suffered a head-on collision
at Bejgaon area in Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj at around 2pm today, police
say.
One of the deceased was identified as Jahid, 32, the identity of the other was
not known immediately.
Additional Police Super (Srinagar Circle) Md Asaduzzaman confirmed the
incident saying, “The accident occurred on Dhaka-Mawa highway when the
microbus collided with a Mawa bound passenger bus of ‘Taj Ananda
Paribahan’, killing two including the driver on spot.”
The injured Sajal, 34, Sayem, 32, Khasru, 35, Shamsul Alam, 36, Redwan, 34
and Mahi, 35 were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
According to the official, the microbus tried to overtake two vehicles in front of
it and went on the wrong side of the road and collided with bus.
Police seized both the vehicles, though the bus driver fled from the spot.
