REMAND-SMUGGLER-GOLD
One remanded over gold smuggling
DHAKA, March 7, 2020 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed a person held at
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with 1.9 kilograms of gold yesterday,
on two-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Al Mamun Bhuiyan placed Md Swapan on the
remand as police produced the accused before court and pleaded to place him
on 10-day remand.
Swapan was detained with gold bars worth around Taka one crore as he
reached from Malaysia on flight BS-316 yesterday. A case was lodged against
him with Airport Police Station under Special Power’s Act.
