New gas field discovered in Cumilla
CUMILLA, March 5, 2020 (BSS)-A new gas field has been discovered in Muradnagar, making it the 28th gas reservoir of the country.
Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Ltd (BAPEX) today informed that it recently discovered a new gas reserve at Srikail of Muradpur here.
“The new gas field under Srikail East-1, was discovered as BAPEX ensured about the existence of gas level there at 8 pm on t Tuesday last,” said Engineer Syed Mohammad Kabir, a project director of the concerned gas field.
BAPEX has started the cleaning process of the gas field to determine detail information, he added.
Bapex Managing Director Mir Md Abdul Hannan hoped that the reservoir might add gas flow of at least 12 million cubic feet per day to the national grid.
He said the pressure of the gas well was 1,880 pounds per square inch (psi).
