JS body for Civil Aviation and Tourism meets

DHAKA, Mar 04, 2020 (BSS) – The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Civil
Aviation and Tourism Ministry today held its 11th meeting with the committee
chairman R.A.M. Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury in the chair.

Committee members State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub
Ali, Ashek Ullah Rafique and Sayeda Rubina Akter attended the meeting, said a
press release issued here.

During the meeting, progress of implementation of the decisions and
recommendations adopted in the last meeting and projects implemented by the
Civil Aviation Authority and the preparation for the celebration of Mujib
Year were discussed in detail.

It was said in the meeting that, Cox’s Bazar Airport is undergoing
development to transform into an international airport to improve
communication with neighboring countries, especially India, Myanmar,
Thailand, China, said the release.

Also, it was stated that the development work will be done with the purpose
to make Cox’s Bazar one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the
world map.

The committee said that construction work to build a ‘General Aviation
Hanger Apron’ at Hazrat Shahjalal International to increase the easement and
facilities in introducing private and commercial aircraft parking facilities,
shelter for parking aircrafts in the hostile weather, and construction of
routine servicing and repair work of aircraft is underway, added the release.

Senior officials concerned were present at the meeting.
