Two to die for killing two minor girls in Demra
DHAKA, March 3, 2020 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced two persons to death for killing two minor girls in Demra in the city last year.
The court also fined them Taka 50,000 each, which will be given to the families of the victims.
Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-3 Judge Jayasree Sammader handed down the judgment. Two convicts-Golam Mostofa ,28, and Azizul Bawany alias Azizul Bowly ,28, were present in the courtroom when the judgment was pronounced.
According to the case, Fariha Akter Dola ,5, daughter of Faridul Islam and Nusrat Jahan ,5, daughter of Palash Howlader, went missing from Konapara area in Demra’s on January 7, 2019.
Later, their bodies were discovered from Golam Mostofa’s house.
On January 8 in 2019, Palash Howlader, father of Nusrat Jahan, filed a case in this regard with Demra Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
According to the case documents, Mostafa had raped Fariha Akter Dola while both of the accused attempted to rape Nusrat before killing them.
Golam Mostofa ,28, and Azizul Bawany alias Azizul Bowly had lured the two girls to a flat and confined them to a room. They strangled the girls after they started screaming.
