Polls open in Israel’s third election in 12 months
JERUSALEM, March 2, 2020 (BSS/AFP) – Polls opened Monday in Israel’s third
election in 12 months, with embattled Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
seeking to end the country’s political crisis and save his career.
The election with 6.4 million eligible voters was expected to be another
tight race between Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud party and the centrist
alliance Blue and White, but both sides are expected to fall well short of a
majority.
