BGB-BSF conference ends in Sylhet

SYLHET, March 1, 2020 (BSS) – A four-day commander-level coordination conference of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India ended at a city hotel today with both sides reiterating to stop border killing.

A 16-member BGB delegation led by North-East region Commander Brigadier General Md Zakir Hossain joined the conference while a nine-member BSF delegation led by Inspector General Dr Prafullya Kumar Rowshan of Mizoram and Cachar frontier attended it.

The border forces of the two neighboring countries agreed to make all possible efforts to control cattle smuggling or any other criminal activity to ensure peaceful atmosphere along the frontiers.

The two sides agreed to take strong measures to prevent illegal border crossing and to intensify simultaneous coordinated patrolling in vulnerable areas.

Commanders of BGB Sorail, Chattagram and Cox’s Bazar and IGs of BSF Meghalaya, Mizoram, Cachar, Gowhatti and Tripura frontiers attended the conference.
