KHULNA, March 1, 2020 (BSS) – Khulna district Awami League has chalked out
programmes to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a befitting manner throughout the year.
The decision was taken in a meeting of Khulna district unit Awami League
held at its party office here yesterday evening.
Presided over by president of Khulna Awami League Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid,
the meeting was also attended by its general secretary Advocate Sujit Kumar
Adhikary as moderator.
As a part of the programmes, Khulna city and district units of AL brought
out a colourful procession from Rupsha traffic intersection in the city this
afternoon.
On March 7, AL city and district units will pay rich tributes to Father of
the Nation by placing wreaths at his mural in front of Khulna Press Club.
On the same day, Khulna AL will organise discussion and rallies
highlighting the significance of the day while Bangabandhu’s historic March 7
speech will be played with loud speakers at all the union and upazila
offices.
On March 17, Khulna district AL unit will celebrate the day by cutting cake
at its party office and pay homage to Father of the Nation by placing
wreathes at his mural.
Apart from this, special prayers will be offered in every mosque, madrasa,
temple and church on the same day.
President of Khulna District AL Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid sought cooperation
of common people to make the celebration of the birth centenary of
Bangabandhu a success.
Bangladesh Awami League and its different wings have chalked out many
programmes across the country throughout the ‘Mujib Year’ along with the
government while the year-long event is expected to draw major world leaders
and global figures to the country.
