7 killed in Rajshahi road accident
RAJSHAHI, Feb 29, 2020 (BSS) – Seven people, including two women and two babies, were killed and two others injured when a private car hit a roadside tree after being lost its control in Kazipur area on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway under Godagari upazila in the district this noon, police and locals said.
The deceased were Akkash Ali, 40, his wife Hosne Ara, 35, daughter Mushfera, 8, and son Adib Al Hassan, 4 months, Ashiya Begum, 30, Purnima, 23, and driver of the car Mahbubur Rahman, 35, said Khairul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Godagari Police Station.
Quoting local people the police officer said the private car with eight people on board was heading to a wedding function but turned turtle and hit a roadside tree as its driver lost control over steering at around 1.15 pm killing three people on the spot.
The five other injured people were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital immediately where four of them succumbed to their injuries, the police officer added.
