Hasan for imparting students’ education alongside developing modesty,
civility

DHAKA, Feb 29, 2020 (BSS)- Stressing the need for imparting the students
education covering all facets of life, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud
today said students should be given proper education alongside developing
sense of modesty and civility to help build a developed nation.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to build a developed state by 2041 . .
. for this a developed nation is needed,” he said, addressing the golden
jubilee function of Mariamnagar Bahumukhi High School in Ranguniya upazila of
Chattogram.

The information minister said the present government does not want such
development which would not keep the doors of all facilities open for poorer
section of children to grow up properly. “We want a new generation to be
characterized by possessing merit, values, patriotism and affection,” he
added.

Chattogram University of Engineers and Technology (CUET) Vice Chancellor
and former student of the school Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Alam and Ranguniya
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Masudur Rahman, addressed the function as
special guests with convenor of golden jubilee udjapan Parishad Showkat
Hossain Setu in the chair.

Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, said Bangladesh is richer
than western countries in terms of family bonds and social values. “We want a
developed state where moral values, patriotism and affection will be
prevailed along with infrastructure development,” he added.

The minister urged the teachers to develop human values, patriotism and
love among the children alongside giving education.

The US expatriate Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad, Orthopedic expert Dr Imam
Uddin, Ranguniya Government College principal Md Abu Yousuf, Abu Dhabi
Bangabandhu Parishad president Iftekhar Hossain Babul, Engineer Amar Kanti
Barua, former upazila chairman Muhammad Ali Shah, Engineer Abdul Latif, Union
Parishad chairman Mujibul Haque Hiru and udjapan parishad member secretary
GMH Siraji, among others, addressed the function.
