Two arrested for selling snatched phone on online
DHAKA, Feb 29, 2020 (BSS) – Detective branch (DB) of police has arrested two muggers in a case lodged over selling a snatched mobile phone online.
“The arrestees Md Zakir, 30, and Faruk, 30, were arrested in a separate drives from different parts of the capital yesterday,” a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) release said.
According to the case documents, the muggers recently mugged public servant Animesh Kanti Halder in old part of the capital on knifepoint and snatched Taka 30 thousand and Samsun A-70 mobile phone from him.
Animesh filed a case with Chawkbazar Police Station in this regard, which was later transferred to DB South division for probing. DB while probing the case recovered the phone from Narayanganj and the new owner claimed he bought the phone from Bikroy.Com, an online marketplace.
Later through the help of technology, police managed to arrest Zakir and Faruk, who are allegedly are active members of a mugger gang. They snatch mobile phones and sell those on different online marketplaces.
The two were produced at court today.
