KHULNA, Feb 28, 2020(BSS)- Khulna District Administration has taken elaborate programmes to observe Genocide Day and Independence Day in Khulna.
In this regard a preparatory meeting was held on Thursday at the conference room of circuit house in the city with deputy commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain in the chair.
On March 25, marking the massacre day, all educational institutions will held discussion meetings where freedom fighters are expected to highlight before the students the history of the black night on March 25, 1971 and the program will be followed by one-minute blackout at 9pm.
The programmes on the Independence Day, will include hoisting the national flag, highlighting significance of the historical 7th March speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and development of the country, screening of films and documentaries, displaying of rare pictures and books based on the liberation war, free drama festival and women’s sports events.
Besides, on March 7, a total of 19,200 Shishu Bangabandhu (Children Bangabandhu) will perform Bangabandhu’s historical 7th March speech wearing ‘Mujib Coat’.
Officials of local government bodies, freedom fighters, heads of various educational institutions and media personnel were also present at the meeting.
