US supports for strengthening FSCD capacity

DHAKA, Feb 27, 2020 (BSS) – The United States has organised a seminar to strengthen the capacity of Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) officials, who serve as first responders during any medical emergency and natural disaster situations.

The five-day second “Medical First Responder Seminar (MFRS) 2020” ended today in Amtali, Barisal, a US embassy press release said here.

The US Embassy in Dhaka conducted the seminar to highlight the US government’s commitment to Bangladesh’s national security and the important security relationships between the United States and Bangladesh.

Thirty officers from seven FSCD stations throughout Barisal Division engaged in a variety of activities during the seminar including hands-on practical exercises.

The MFRS is one of the many initiatives of the US government to promote greater cooperation, dialogue, and mutual understanding between Bangladesh and the United States, encouraging a strong partnership and helping to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

Moreover, all attendees received an emergency first-aid kit with medical supplies sourced from Bangladeshi enterprises.
