Anisul finds Khaleda’s disapproval for treatment abnormal
DHAKA, Feb 27, 2020 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today said he found disapproval of Begum Khaleda Zia in receiving advanced treatment at BSMMU Hospital, abnormal.
“The physicians at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital are not being able to start her treatment as she is not giving consent for it. If she is sick, it is natural that she will permit them to treat her, but she is not doing that, which I found abnormal,” he said.
The minister said these while briefing newsmen at his Gulshan residence after the High Court today scrapped a fresh plea of bail for the BNP chief in Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
“The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court also had scrapped her bail plea in the case, with some observations. In spite of that, Khaleda Zia’s counsels filed this bail plea with the High Court. The court today came up with its order after scrutinizing the facts thoroughly. So I have nothing to say about this,” Anisul added.
Replying to a question on BNP’s allegation against the judgment, the law minister said the party makes many such illogical demands and he doesn’t feel there is any need to respond to those.
Earlier in the day, the High Court rejected Khaleda Zia’s plea for bail on health ground, saying her treatment is possible at BSMMU Hospital.
