China urges ‘full denuclearisation’ as Kim-Trump meet
BEIJING, June 12, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – China on Tuesday praised the summit
between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un for
creating a “new history”, calling for “full denuclearisation” to resolve
tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
The fact that the two leaders “can sit together and have equal talks has
important and positive meaning, and is creating a new history,” Chinese
Foreign Minister Wang Yi told reporters, adding that the nuclear issue must
be resolved through “full denuclearisation”.
