CSE gets new chairman

DHAKA, Feb 25, 2020 (BSS) – Former President of the Dhaka Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Asif Ibrahim has been elected as new chairman of
the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).

All the Independent directors and shareholder directors of the CSE
unanimously today elected him for the next three- year, according to a press
release.

Earlier, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) approved a
list of seven independent directors as the tenure of the incumbents on the
CSE Board expired.

Asif Ibrahim was born in Dhaka in the year 1965. He is the Vice Chairman
of New age Group of Industries, a business house involved mainly in
manufacturing and exporting ready-made garments, textiles and plastic
products.

Asif Ibrahim is the Former Founder Chairman of Business Initiative Leading
Development (BUILD), a Public Private Dialogue platform to expedite the
policy reforms to enable private sector led economic growth of Bangladesh.
