DNCRP realises Tk3.98 lakh fine from 119 business houses
DHAKA, Feb 24, 2019 (BSS) – Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) has realized Taka 3.98 lakh as fine from 119 business establishments across the country on the charges of different offences.
The DNCRP inspected different markets and fined the business establishments in the capital, Chattogram city, Gazipur , Madaripur, Munshiganj, Shariatpur, Tangail, Kishoreganj, Faridpur, Narsingdi, Gopalganj, Netrokona, Noakhali, Feni, Cumilla, Chandpur, Rajshahi, Naogaon, Sirajganj, Bogura, Pabna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Jashore, Sylhet, Habiganj and Rangpur , a press release said here today.
In a drive in the city, DNCRP fined Monirer Sabji, Shaheb Miyar Macher Dokan, Shahidul Islam Moslar Dokan, Faridpur rice agency, Abdullah Enterprise, Mushiganj Banijjaloy, Sharif Enterprise, Mujammel Store and Diya Enterprise Taka 14,000 for different offences.
In another drive, the DNCRP fined 104 business establishments Taka 3,56,000 in the city’s for not showing the price list, for making food products at unhealthy places and selling goods without any MRP seal and expired foods, including medicine, cheating with customers while weighing products, using banned ingredients in foods and not showing any price list.
Besides, five companies were fined Taka 28,000 on the basis of the written complaints lodged by customers and 25 percent of the fine was paid to the complainants immediately.
Among others, District Administration, District Police, Armed Police Battalion, Civil Surgeon, Sanitary Inspector, Fisheries Officer and officials of local administration were present during the drives.
