Road accident kills 3 pharmaceutical staff in Naogaon
NAOGAON, Feb 24, 2020 (BSS) – Three persons were killed and two others
injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG run auto rickshaw
near ferry ghat bridge area in Manda Upazila of the district this morning.
The deceased were identified as Rafiqul Islam, 38, Joynal Abedin, 35 and
Ashraful Islam.
According to the family sources, all of them were representatives of Acme
Laboratories Ltd.
The injured are Abul Hashem, 38 and Abdul Kuddus, 38 and they are also the
employees of the same pharmaceutical company.
The victims were going to Naogaon to attend an annual function of the
company.
A Rajshahi bound speeding truck coming from the opposite direction
collided head-on with the CNG run auto-rickshaw around 8am today, killing
Rafiqul on the spot, and severely injuring others, said Manda Thana Officer-
in-Charge (OC) Mozaffar Hossain.
Joynal and Ashraful died on the way to Manda Upazila Health Complex and
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, he said.
Filling of a case in this regard is underway, the official confirmed.
