Malaysian minister calls on FM
DHAKA, Feb 23, 2020 (BSS) – Visiting Malaysian Minister for Human Recourses M Kulasegaran today called on Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen at the latter’s office here.
During the meeting, Momen thanked Malaysian government for employing around 280 thousand Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia during 2017-2018 under G2G Plus process, a press release said.
He requested the Malaysian government to regularize the undocumented Bangladeshis staying in Malaysia as the migrant workers can contribute to both local and home economies.
The foreign minister thanked Malaysia for its continued support both internationally and regionally on Rohingya issue.
Momen requested Malaysia to remain pro-active in the ASEAN platform to convince Myanmar for creating a conducive environment for a safe, dignified and sustainable repatriation of the Rohingyas.
The Malaysian minister assured of providing his government’s support for a durable solution to the crisis.
Momen also thanked Malaysian minister for visiting Bangladesh and expressed the hope that Malaysian labor market will soon be opened for Bangladeshi migrant workers.
