Scouting makes disciplined, quiet life: speakers

RANGPUR, Feb 23, 2020 (BSS) – Speakers at a post-rally discussion here today said scouting always helps the person to be disciplined, systematic and quiet with the spirit of wisdom.

They said this at a discussion organised by Rangpur district unit of
Bangladesh Scouts at its hall room to celebrate the 163rd birth anniversary
of the founder of scouting movement Robert Stephenson Smyth Lord Baden
Powell.

Earlier, a rally with participation of scouts, girls guide and students of
different educational institutions, government officials and leaders of
scouting movement was brought out from the Scout Bhaban.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Shukria Pervin attended
the discussion as chief guest with Rangpur District Scout Commissioner and
Leader Trainer of Bangladesh Scouts Siddikur Rahman in the chair.

Deputy Regional Commissioner (Training) of Bangladesh Scouts for Dinajpur
Region and Leader Trainer of Bangladesh Scouts Mahbubul Alam Pramanik, Leader
Trainer of Bangladesh Scouts Aleya Khatun, Secretary of District Scouts
Zakiul Islam and District Scout Leader Rafikul Haque Babu also addressed.

Paying rich tributes to Baden Powell, the speakers said the young students
have to take part in scouting along with pursuing academic and other extra-
curricular activities for developing themselves as honest, worthy and
patriotic citizens.

The chief guest urged the scouts to come forward with firm commitment and
determination for serving the society as per the ideals of the founder of
scouting movement Lord Baden Powell to show due respect to him.

“Those engaged in scout movement, can never be involved in antisocial
activities ,” she said, adding that the scouts can play a pivotal role to
build a knowledge-based enlightened society free from drug addiction.

Siddikur Rahman called upon the scouts to serve the society selflessly for
making a disciplined, peaceful and developed Sonar Bangla to realize the
dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
