14 injured as private car ploughs into crowd at Kurmitola
DHAKA, Feb 23, 2020 (BSS) – At least 14 people including women and
children were injured as a speeding private car rammed into a crowd in front
of Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital at around 11:30am today.
“The accident occurred when the driver of the private car lost control
over the steering and ploughed into a group of pedestrians waiting for
transport beside the road in front of the hospital,” said Kazi Shahan Haque,
officer-in-Charge of Cantonment Thana.
The injured were rushed to Kurmitola general Hospital, he said.
Among them, six critically injured were shifted to Dhaka Medical College
Hospital and Neuroscience Hospital.
Police arrested the driver.
